Hi, I'm Laine

I'd rather talk
like a neighbor.

I'm Laine Holm. I help California families put life insurance in place without the jargon, the hard sell, or the forty-page brochure nobody reads.

Most people I talk to aren't insurance people. They're parents thinking about a mortgage, a kid starting school, an aging parent. My job is to sit with you for a few minutes, hear what you're actually worried about, and tell you plainly what it would take to cover it.

"Laine explained it in one call, in normal words. We had coverage in place two weeks later and I stopped thinking about it." Client, San Jose.

How it goes

  1. 01

    A free call

We talk for fifteen minutes. What your family looks like, what you're carrying, what would happen if you weren't here. That's it.

  2. 02

    Real options, explained plainly

I come back with a short list of what actually fits, what it costs, what it does, and what I'd skip if I were you. No sales deck. You're allowed to say no, or to think about it.

  3. 03

    Coverage in place, paperwork handled

Once you pick, I handle the application, the medical questions, the follow-ups, and the back-and-forth. You get a policy number and the quiet that comes with it, and I'm still your point of contact after, not a call center.

What I can help with

Term life

Affordable protection for a set number of years, often the right fit when a mortgage, young kids, or other big obligations are in the picture.

Whole life

Lifelong coverage that builds guaranteed cash value. A steady option when you want something that doesn't expire on you.

Universal life (IUL)

Flexible lifelong coverage where cash value growth is linked to a market index. You can participate in market gains up to a cap, while the principal is protected from market downturns. When structured properly, it can be designed to provide a source of tax-advantaged retirement income later in life, a policy loan/withdrawal feature, not a retirement account, and not a guarantee. Results depend on how the policy is funded.

Final expense

Smaller policies meant to cover funeral and final costs, so your family isn't left sorting bills at a hard time.

Free policy review

For anyone who already has coverage. Send it over and I'll tell you honestly whether it's fine as-is, short, or costing more than it should.

Coverage you may never need to die to use.

Many of the policies Laine offers include living benefits riders. That means if you're diagnosed with a critical, chronic, or terminal illness, you may be able to access a portion of the death benefit while you're still alive.

It's not a replacement for health insurance, and eligibility and amounts depend on the specific policy and diagnosis. But it can mean the difference between a policy that only pays out after death and one that can help your family when you need it most.

Healthy habits, lower costs

Rewards for taking care of yourself.

Select policies include a wellness rewards program that can lower premiums and unlock rewards for healthy habits, things like regular exercise, annual checkups, and staying active.

Depending on the policy, that can mean discounts, fitness device offers, and other perks simply for doing what you're already doing. Laine can tell you which options include it and whether it makes sense for you.

Questions
people ask

What does the call cost?
Nothing. There's no fee for the call, the quotes, or the policy review. I'm paid by the carrier only if you decide to put coverage in place.
How long does approval take?
Some policies approve in a day or two with just health questions. If underwriting wants labs or records, figure two to six weeks. I'll tell you upfront which track you're likely on.
Can you look at a policy I already have?
Yes, and I'd like to. Send me what you have and I'll walk you through what it actually covers and whether it still fits your life.
I don't know how much coverage I need.
That's most people. We'll add up the real things, mortgage, income years, childcare, school, and land on a number that isn't guesswork or a sales quota.
